It was such a beautiful day, one of those days where you could just hear Julie Andrews running down the hillside, singing, “The hills are alive …”, that we decided to head out to the countryside to explore the wide open spaces.
We invited a couple of girls (equipped with hats, of course! mandatory to protect against the sun!), grabbed some balloons, a few toys and books, and some snacks and a blanket for a picnic. It’s incredible what a sunny day in the countryside can do for a person. Away from the hustle and bustle of urban life, our kids also relaxed and opened up while chasing balloons in the wind. Soon their imaginations took flight as well. Suddenly, we all felt as if we were living in another century. In another space and time. Fresh air does good things for a body.
